Who is this guy anyway?
How It All Begin
After earning his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University and working as a Manager in the private security industry for over 10 years. James decided to get his Master's degree from Texas Womans University and while attending, James was motivated to start his own business. Events By Duke was founded in 2010 after earning his MBA, with a deep passion for business, music and entertaining. James is a professional DJ with ten years of experience with weddings, corporate events, school functions, night clubs and social gatherings in the Houston and Galveston Surrounding area.

We have set out to create a comprehensive mobile entertainment solution for Houston, and the surrounding area. We have combined our passions for sound, lights, and video to ensure that your event is nothing short of spectacular. Our company is composed of competent professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to properly service your most prized and valued celebrations.

What makes me unique
I bring knowledge, passion, and desire to your event. Having a vast knowledge and connection to music, and making seamless transitions instead of just simply pressing play and forgetting about it. The experience of working numerous crowds (high school, clubs, corporate parties, and weddings), at lots of locations. to understand what they want to hear and dance to, knowing that songs from totally different genres and years can seamlessly intertwine with each other. And adding to my passion for music I bring technical expertise that is rare to find in this industry. Everything from my backup concepts to the ability to hone in the perfect sound at a venue.
